Scope

Information Technology (IT): Deals with managing and supporting technology infrastructure and systems. Careers include IT managers, network administrators, and technical support specialists. Essential in all sectors for IT services and infrastructure management.

Programme Structure

The first semester lays a robust foundation in information technology. Mathematics for Computer Science covers essential mathematical skills for IT applications. Engineering Physics provides fundamental scientific knowledge, while Introduction to Computer Science and Engineering offers an overview of the field. Programming Fundamentals introduces basic coding skills, and Basics of Information Technology covers core IT concepts. Communication Skills are developed to enhance technical and professional interactions.

In the second semester, students deepen their understanding of IT systems and applications. Data Structures and Algorithms focus on efficient data handling techniques. Digital Logic Design examines electronic circuit principles, while Computer Organization explores system architecture. Database Management Systems covers essential database concepts and practices. Engineering Mathematics II extends mathematical knowledge, and Environmental Science provides insight into technology’s environmental impact.

The third semester emphasizes practical IT skills and foundational knowledge. Operating Systems cover system software management. Software Engineering introduces methodologies for developing and managing software projects. Computer Networks explore networking principles crucial for IT systems. Web Technologies teach the development of web applications. Probability and Statistics are applied to data analysis, and Technical English enhances the ability to communicate complex IT concepts effectively.

In the fourth semester, students tackle advanced IT topics. Advanced Programming focuses on sophisticated coding techniques and languages. Mobile Application Development explores creating applications for mobile platforms. Information Systems examines the role of IT in organizational management. Network Security addresses the protection of IT networks from security threats. Elective I allows students to explore areas of personal interest within IT.

The fifth semester delves into specialized IT areas. Cloud Computing covers using cloud technologies for IT solutions. Big Data Technologies introduces tools and techniques for managing and analyzing large datasets. Cyber Security addresses methods for protecting IT systems and data. Data Warehousing explores systems for large-scale data storage and management. Students select their second Elective and an Open Elective I to broaden their academic experience.

In the sixth semester, students engage in hands-on projects and advanced studies. Artificial Intelligence explores AI techniques and applications. Internet of Things (IoT) covers the integration of IT systems with IoT technologies. IT Project Management introduces methodologies for managing IT projects effectively. Students select their third Elective and an Open Elective II. A Minor Project allows students to apply their knowledge to practical IT challenges.

The seventh semester focuses on integrating IT skills with major projects and emerging technologies. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) covers integrated IT solutions for business management. IT Governance and Compliance addresses regulatory and policy considerations in IT. Emerging Technologies explores new and future trends in IT. Students work on their Major Project Part I and select their fourth Elective and an Open Elective III.

The final semester culminates in comprehensive project work and industry experience. Major Project Part II involves completing and presenting a significant project, demonstrating the culmination of learning throughout the program. Professional Ethics in IT covers ethical considerations specific to the IT industry. Industry Internship provides practical experience and exposure to real-world IT environments. Students select their fifth Elective and an Open Elective IV, completing their education with diverse learning opportunities.
